    MTN announces AI-enabled data centre plans for Nigeria, South Africa

    MTN Group announced it is developing AI-enabled data centres in Nigeria and South Africa through a partnership with a UAE-backed investor via Africa Data Hub Holding. The initial phase is expected to target approximately 150 megawatts of capacity, representing an estimated investment of over $1.5 billion. MTN CEO Ralph Mupita also disclosed the company is exploring banking licences in select African markets to expand lending services.
