Nvidia agrees $105B guarantee for OpenAI Ohio data center; invests $1.5B in SB Energy

Nvidia has agreed to provide a guarantee of up to $105 billion to support OpenAI's 20-year lease of a data center in Pike County, Ohio being developed by SB Energy (SoftBank subsidiary), while also investing $1.5 billion in SB Energy itself. The guarantee covers a portion of OpenAI's lease and power payments and ensures minimum site value if OpenAI defaults. The facility will eventually reach 8 gigawatts capacity with initial 800 megawatts coming online in 2028; Nvidia will be the exclusive chip provider. The deal represents one of Nvidia's largest infrastructure financing commitments and is intended to secure long-term demand for Nvidia compute in AI infrastructure.
