  Eolian begins construction of 200 MW battery storage project in Ohio

  Eolian Energy has started construction of The Flint Grid, a 200 MW, 5.3-hour battery energy storage system (BESS) with 1.06 GWh capacity in Jersey Township, Licking County, Ohio, near data centre and industrial loads in New Albany. The project is the first grid-scale BESS approved by the Ohio Power Siting Board and the largest currently under construction in Ohio and the PJM footprint. It is expected to enter commercial operation before the 2027–2028 PJM capacity year and will provide grid flexibility to manage electricity supply and demand, including growing demand from data centres.
