Equinix completed the second phase of its BG2 data centre in Bogotá, Colombia, investing $28 million to add 550 new cabinets and 3 MW of electrical capacity. The facility now totals 6 MW and implements liquid cooling to support GPU-intensive artificial intelligence workloads. The expansion is powered by 100% renewable energy, primarily hydroelectric, and positions Bogotá as a strategic hub for data exchange between South America and North America. A third 3 MW phase is planned without additional physical space.
