YTL Power and JLand announce 1.5GW data center campus partnership in Johor
YTL Power International and JLand Group jointly announced a partnership to develop a gigawatt-scale data center campus in Johor, Malaysia, with planned capacity between 1.3 GW and 1.5 GW. SIPP Power, a YTL subsidiary, will acquire approximately 145 acres within Sedenak Tech Park West with an option for a further 400 acres. The campus will complement YTL's existing 1.2 GW Green Data Center Park in Kulai, bringing combined capacity to potentially 2.7 GW. The project is situated within Ibrahim Technopolis, supporting the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone.
STT GDC secures USD 1.37bn green financing for Malaysia Johor campus
ST Telemedia Global Data Centres announced the close of a USD 1.37 billion green financing facility to support development of STT Johor, its flagship data centre campus in Johor, Malaysia. The financing package, led by United Overseas Bank with OCBC, Standard Chartered and CIMB as mandated lead arrangers, will fund Phase 1 of the campus and subsequent phases. STT Johor is planned to reach 166 MW of IT load capacity and will support cloud, AI, HPC and digital workloads. The facility reinforces STT GDC's sustainability commitments, including its achievement of 83.2% renewable energy consumption and 70.5% carbon intensity reduction against 2021 baseline.

Gamuda awarded US$420M hyperscale data-center construction contract in Port Dickson
Gamuda Berhad announced it has been awarded a RM1.71 billion (US$420 million) construction contract for a hyperscale data center in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, by an undisclosed US tech company. The work, commencing Q3 2026 and completing Q2 2028, covers site infrastructure, core and shell construction, and MEP fit-out for a single-storey facility. This is Gamuda's second hyperscale data center construction project at the same location, following a similar US$430 million contract awarded in April 2026.
Sunway Construction wins US$250M MEP contract for Johor data center
Malaysian construction firm Sunway Construction Group Bhd has secured a mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) fit-out contract worth RM1.02 billion (US$250 million) for a data center in Johor, Malaysia, awarded by a US technology company. The MEP work is to commence immediately and is expected to complete by Q4 2027. The identity of the US client and exact data center location were not disclosed in the exchange filing.
