  DE-CIX India, a leading interconnection platform operator, has established a point of presence (PoP) at AdaniConneX's Chennai 1 data center in Tamil Nadu. The deployment enables direct access to DE-CIX India's internet exchange, cloud connectivity and enterprise networking services for Chennai 1 customers, and connects to over 600 networks including telecom operators, ISPs, content platforms and cloud operators. The PoP leverages international subsea cable landing stations in Chennai to reduce latency and enhance performance. AdaniConneX and DE-CIX India are exploring further expansion of interconnection capabilities across additional campuses.

  AM Intelligence Orders 9,000 Vera Rubin GPUs for 30 MW Hyderabad Data Centre

  AM Intelligence, the AI infrastructure arm of AM Group and backed by renewable-energy producer Greenko, announced a binding order for 9,000 Nvidia Vera Rubin GPUs (125 NVL72 racks) for a 30 MW AI data centre in Hyderabad, India, targeted to launch in Q1 2027. The facility will be powered by carbon-free renewable energy owned and operated by Greenko, providing power costs 50–70% below commercial grid rates. This represents the first frontier-class Vera Rubin deployment in India and one of the largest known orders for the platform outside the hyperscalers, secured through direct allocation from Nvidia amid tight global supply constraints. AMI plans $8 billion in capital expenditure across India, the US, Finland, and Malaysia to build 200 MW of initial capacity.

  High Court orders response on Vizag data centre environmental clearance irregularities

  The Andhra Pradesh High Court Division Bench, headed by Chief Justice Lisa Gill, heard a public interest litigation on August 24, 2026 challenging the environmental clearances and land transfer granted to Vizag Hyperscale Data Center Park Limited (Google-owned) in Visakhapatnam. The petitioner alleged violations including lack of proper environmental assessment, absence of data localisation as required by law, proximity to an eco-sensitive forest reserve, and that the 160-acre land belonged to Simhachalam Devasthanam temple. The court observed that prescribed environmental clearance processes cannot be bypassed and ordered the State government and Advocate-General to file detailed responses on the alleged irregularities.

  Andhra Pradesh IT Minister assures data centres will not tap Visakhapatnam drinking water

  IT Minister Nara Lokesh told the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on 19 August 2026 that data centres planned for Visakhapatnam will not draw water from the city's drinking supply. He stated that the proposed 6.5 GW data-centre ecosystem will require approximately 3 tmc ft of water annually, sourced from the industrial allocation of Polavaram water via separate pipelines. The government has capped data-centre allocations at 6.5 GW and will prioritize companies demonstrating strong environmental responsibility. The statement addresses environmental concerns raised by opposition lawmakers about the Google Cloud AI hub project (1 GW) at Tarluvada.

  Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath invested ₹200 crore and entrepreneur Sreeram Vanga invested ₹50 crore in hyperscale data centre operator CtrlS Datacenters on 19 August 2026. The capital supports CtrlS's infrastructure expansion and capacity build-out across India to meet growing enterprise and hyperscaler demand driven by AI, cloud, and digital workloads. CtrlS operates 19 data centres across nine Indian markets with 370 MW of capacity and 4.4 GW in projects under development. The investment follows CtrlS's July partnership with Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) committing up to ₹7,000 crore.

  Aurionpro Solutions Ltd announced it has secured a contract worth approximately ₹100 crore (USD 12 million equivalent) from an unnamed global hyperscale data centre operator to build AI-ready digital infrastructure at a new facility in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. The scope covers mechanical, architectural, structural, and fit-out work alongside technology implementation for hyperscale and AI-ready infrastructure. The contract expands an existing relationship with the hyperscaler and reinforces Aurionpro's positioning as a full-stack solutions provider in the data centre segment.

  Samsung opens FläktGroup HVAC manufacturing facility in Pune for AI data centre cooling

  Samsung Electronics announced completion of a new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) manufacturing facility in Pune, Maharashtra, operated by FläktGroup, a Samsung subsidiary acquired in November 2025. The plant will manufacture Air Handling Units, Fan Wall Units, and Computer Air Handlers for AI data centres and critical infrastructure, with capacity to produce up to 6,500 HVAC units annually. The facility is strategically located near Mumbai to supply cooling solutions across India and the Asia-Pacific region. This is the first new FläktGroup manufacturing facility to become operational since Samsung's acquisition of the global HVAC specialist.
